About 

Debasis Koley completed his graduation in chemistry from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira Belurmath and subsequent post-graduation from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2001. He later moved to Max-Planck-Institute for Coal Research, Muelheim an der Ruhr, Germany to pursue his doctoral studies (2001-2005) in the field of Computational Chemistry. After two postdoctoral experiences at Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Goettingen, and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, he joined Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata in 2011 to start his independent research journey. He is a recipient of prestigious fellowships including MPI doctoral and postdoctoral stipends, DFG fellowship and IISc centenary fellowship. His hobbies include reading books, travelling, and spending time with family.
